Beginning in 2009, Kentucky Public School has been presenting an annual full scale stage musical. All students from the school are involved and have a speaking roles in the productions.
In 2009, the school presented a very successful adaptation of Rudyard Kipling's' "Jungle Book". A matinee and an evening show were performed at the Kentucky Hall to receptive crowds. This was followed in subsequent years with versions of Walt Disney's Musicals "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs", "Peter Pan", "Mary Poppins", "Cinderella", "Pinocchio" and "The Little Mermaid" which were also big hits. In 2016 a revised version of "The Jungle Book" was performed (pictures below)
With a great song list, wonderful acting by the school's students and some fantastic props and costumes created by the parents, the shows have been a wonderful success.
The planning for the 2017 production is well underway!
